Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Basic Training was a two-day, entry-level course designed to provide a solid overview of key environmental issues associated with ordnance and explosives (OE) cleanup. Participants were introduced to basic terminology, OE/UXO identification, safety concerns, regulatory requirements, conventional and innovative technology, site characterization, and remediation. UXO Basic Training provided introductory background on key OE/UXO cleanup issues relevant to state regulator, federal environmental program manager, and community stakeholder oversight responsibilities. Course instructors combined lecture, handouts, case studies, and class participation to provide an interesting and interactive training experience.
